Role
In conjunction with the Senior Program Manager and Division Director, develop and implement Social Media Campaigns and Health Communication strategies, including content development and implementation schedules, educational initiatives and materials related to infectious diseases for persons, individuals or groups at risk, health care providers and community agencies. May assist with trainings as needed.
Duties:
In addition to all duties in Program Coordinator II, Program Coordinator III will perform these duties:
* May coordinate multiple projects and/or initiatives including activities supporting coalition development, community health education and achievement of program goals.
* Coordinates, supports and supervises activities of program or project.
* Prepares reports for director and funders; assists with data collection and evaluation activities; reviews and analyzes information and data concerning BPHC program, to determine effectiveness.
* Implements appropriate fiscal management systems to ensure compliance with grant obligations; manages/oversees development and oversight of RFP's and grants.
* Under supervision of program management develops and oversees distribution of all communications, brochures and educational materials in accordance with Commission policy.
* Ensures and maintains effective communication among community organizations, city agencies, coalition members and residents and develops strategies to support project activities.
* Coordinates meetings, events and activities necessary for the effective implementation of program goals.
* Delivers services according to established program protocol.
* May supervise employees including but not limited to lower-level coordinators within job series; trains, evaluates and recommends discipline for staff; reviews the work of subordinates for completeness, accuracy and content.
* Working to help BPHC become an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Policy Administration, or a related discipline, such as sociology, organizational psychology, public health nursing, or health communications required; OR BA/BS plus 5 years of equivalent experience in public healtah program coordination, management and/or community organizing.
* Experience designing and implementing public health or health related programs and initiatives.
* Knowledge and experience in coalition building, community organizing and with health education and health promotion strategies.
* Demonstrated experience coordinating and implementing complex projects in the area of position.
* Ability to write clear, concise reports, and to follow and to give written and oral instructions in a precise, understandable manner.
* Demonstrated experience or related requirements as established by the program may be needed.
* Experience planning community meetings and events.
* Excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills.
* Ability and experience working with diverse populations.
* Excellent supervisory and team building skills including planning and assigning work; evaluating and motivating staff; determining the need for disciplinary action; and either recommending or initiating disciplinary action.
* Advanced knowledge & experience with MSOffice and Knowledge of data analysis and epidemiology.
* Advanced experience with and knowledge of local community agencies.
* Commitment to health equity and racial/social justice issues.
* Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.
