About the Job
Job Summary
Works in a collaborative role with all members of the professional inter-disciplinary team (IDT) and with community service agencies to coordinate care for members to improve health outcomes. Provides administrative support to the Service Coordinator (SC) and Utilization Management (UM) team to ensure all authorizations, referrals, phone calls, and reports are addressed and completed in a timely manner. Assists with gathering information for the inter-disciplinary team regarding barriers or other health information. Assists with the implementation of interventions to promote improved health and compliance with recommended plan of care, as approved by the inter-disciplinary team, which includes reminders of necessary assessments and authorizations as determined by clinical guidelines and support of the professional clinical staff in the inter-disciplinary team. May serve as a key resource in supporting the clinical authorization processes, coordinating linkage between members, primary care providers, specialty providers, nursing facilities, and other insurance companies. Includes supporting the referral process from providers, as well as pre-authorization approvals for medications and other services as ordered/requested by providers.

8. Must be able to navigate a PC to open applications, send emails, and conduct data entry.
9. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in interactions with physicians, payors, and members/families.

11. Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
12. Bilingual, English and Spanish highly preferred.
Work Experience
Three years of health care experience, preferably in a managed care environment in related area of responsibility, i.e. long-term care, home health, hospice, public health or assisted living. Knowledge of Texas Medicaid and health plan processes preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Experience as a case management support Associate, a customer service representative in a medical office or health plan preferred. Strong knowledge of the MS Office suite (Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point programs).

Education and Training
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in health care/social work-related field preferred.
