Cook - On The Border - Rapid City

Our cooks are very important members of our kitchen staff. They are responsible for making sure that food is prepared to the exact specifications of the chef, establishment, and customer. We want our line cooks to grow and move up in the kitchen to positions with more responsibility. The following duties are expected of a line cook: - Station Set Up - Food Prep - Cook - Stock Station - Clean up Cook is generally offered as a part time restaurant job. Prier experience as cook, chef, prep cook, line cook, fry cook, grill cook, boh, or other back of the house part time restaurant jobs highly desirable. Requirements/Responsibilities - Preparing high quality food to On The Border specifications - Adhering to OTB safety and sanitation policies and procedures - Communicating cook times, potential issues with Managers and Team Members - Completing assigned prep work to stock and set up stations - Minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking. - At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity. - Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and wait staff. - Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds. - Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours). - Must be able to follow printed recipes and plate specifications.
