The Ranch at Enterhealth, located in Van Alstyne, Texas, is a premier, dual-diagnosis, residential treatment facility dedicated to supporting the healing process of addiction recovery. The Kitchen Assistant supports The Ranch's culinary operations ensuring a positive dining experience for all clients and guests.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the preparation of safe, visually appealing, and properly flavored foods and well-balanced, nutritional meals.
- Assist in keeping an accurate count of inventory and stocking inventory.
- Assist in establishing presentation technique and quality standards.
- Assist with special catering events as needed.
- Assist with serving meals and snacks to clients and staff.
- Assist with preparation and clean-up of meals and snacks, including cleaning of dishes, kitchen, tables, etc.
- Prepare a full hot breakfast at least once a week.
- Prepare one hot dish each morning.
- Incorporate organic produce, all-natural protein options, eco-friendly building aspects, and cups, utensils, and take-out containers that are biodegradable, in daily services, as often as possible.
- Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
- Assist the Chef and Assistant Chef with other kitchen duties as requested.

Qualifications:
- Formal culinary training preferred or a minimum of two (2) years of culinary/kitchen support/preparation experience.
- Knowledge of cultural dietary requirements.
- Batch cooking or high-volume cooking experience is preferred.
- Experience with food production for large catering or banquet functions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends.
- Food Handler Permit required. Food Manager Permit preferred.

You will have some light physical demands.
