About the Job
As the RCC Cook you will be responsible for meal planning and cooking meals for the residents. You will ensure sanitation protocols are met and follow necessary guidelines for food handling and safety.
This is a part time position, Sunday-Thursday 2:30pm-6:30pm with some coverage duties for absences. This position pays $25/hour with a confirmed 20 hours/week.
This position will be for our River Rd facility.
You must have knowledge of USDA and Oregon Department of Education standards. A working knowledge of proper use and care of kitchen equipment, proper food storage, and proper food usage is required. The ability to interact professionally with staff and clients, maintain strong professional boundaries, and uphold confidentiality is a must. You must also be able to pass crisis intervention training within your first month of employment. A valid Oregon Food Handlers License is required for this position.

RCC, or the Regional Crisis Center, is a PRTS/subacute residential facility where youth are placed directly from the Department of Human Services. RCC provides on-site residential living facilities, mental health treatment, family counseling, substance use disorders treatment, and academic instruction and education. RCC clients often display acute behaviors and have multiple cognitive or behavioral challenges. RCC direct care staff use verbal de-escalation tactics as well as seclusion rooms and full-body restraints, when necessary, to ensure the safety of our clients. Kitchen staff rarely participate in de-escalation though may occasionally provide support to direct care staff when necessary.
