Job Title: Cook/Back of House Representative
General Description of Job:
A cook directly supports all Zaxby's managers and team members and actively personifies the Zaxby's missions statement, core values, and company culture. A cook performs kitchen activities with the goal of creating an excellent guest experience through the preparation of excellent food. A cook is accountable for maintaining the highest standard of safe food preparation and high quality service while conscious to do so in a quick manner with excellent presentation. A cook maintains a positive attitude and a willingness to learn in a teamwork environment. A cook constantly strives for efficient kitchen operations, yet clearly understands the job's priorities and always puts the customer's direct needs first. A cook communicates well with all employees and is responsive to management supervision and objective feedback.
Job Activities:
Sets up and closes kitchen for total operational functionality of shift and following shift.
Prepares all items on kitchen prep list following Zaxby's training procedures to ensure all food items are fully stocked for a shift.
Understands every kitchen station and follows all Zaxby's cooking procedures to ensure safe service of high quality food.
Work on the center-line of food production whereas to guarantee high quality food and customer service that is fast and presented in the correct manner.
Follows the FIFO inventory procedures, properly labels all prepared food items, and knows where all kitchen items are located.
Ensures that necessary kitchen utensils and equipment are properly positioned throughout shift for use by all team members.
Able to correctly complete all daily BOH maintenance procedures and helps with completing weekly and monthly maintenance.
Maintains a clean work station throughout the shift and aids other team members in this task when needed.
Completes the BOH checklist for assigned workstation and openly assists other BOH team members in this process.
Washes dishes so the next shift will be fully prepared for starting kitchen operations.
Disposes of all accumulated trash and boxes to the appropriate bins during a shift and cleans dumpster area when necessary.
Equipment Utilized:
Conscious of safe usage/storage of all hazardous chemicals used to clean BOH area.
Knows the correct and safe procedures for using and maintaining kitchen equipment such as fryers, grills, hot holding bins, and other kitchen equipment.
Safely uses all food preparation equipment including knives, peelers, lettuce choppers, tomato and lemon slicers, and any other potentially hazardous objects.

Punctual, dependable, and with reliable transportation for completing each assigned shift.
Understands Zaxby's safety policies and procedures including necessary MSDS information.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to stand for extended periods if time.
