Seeking skilled, organized, Line Cook for Hotel Restaurant.
Part Time/ Float Pool position available.
Must be able to pass a background and drug screen.
FLSA: Non- Exempt
Job Summary:
Responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. Responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare or direct preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems.
- Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems.
- Ensure availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation.
- Set steam table; serve or ensure proper serving of food for tray line or dining room.
- Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards. Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques.
- Store food properly and safely, marking date and item.
- Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.
- Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders.
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved.
- Apportion food for serving.
- Maintain daily production records.
- Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation.
- Complete food temperature checks before service.
- Ability to report to work on time and on schedule.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form.
- Ability to learn, follow and enforce food handling/service procedures and standards.
- Ability to follow all safety procedures and standards and capable of appropriate response to emergency situations.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to gain knowledge of hotel brand standards
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Related or prior experience in food handling or service.
- Certification in food handling/service preferred. Moderate reading and writing skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma/GED
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
- Walks and stands during entire shift.
- Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe.
- Remain stationary for long periods of time.
- Frequent washing of hands.
- Be Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slipping and tripping.
- You must be of legal age to serve liquor according to state law.
Safety and Security:
- Support the hotel management staff in creating and reinforcing a work space culture that emphasizes safety and security, specifically:
- Recognize, report, and correct conditions which may create security and safety hazards.
- Understand and adhere to policies and procedures for the hotel’s key control system.
- Participate in on-going safety training.
Due to the nature of the position, you can expect to walk around the hotel and stand up the majority of the time. Work environment involves risks or discomforts which require safety precautions. Use of safe work place practices is required.
