St. Joseph Country club is an 18-hole championship award-winning golf club that prides itself on providing exceptional amenities to members. Established in 1898, St. Joseph Country Clun is the oldest country club west of the Mississippi River.
We are seeking experienced cooks to join our team. The Cook is responsible for preparing and directing the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, and following established food production programs and procedures. The cook is responsible for the appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares hot and cold foods by observing proper food preparation and handling techniques.
- Correctly prepares all food served following company standard recipes and special diet orders.
- Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains work areas including equipment, utensils, tools, dishes and silverware.
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved.
- Performs kitchen duties including slicing, chopping, frying, and grilling.
- Responsible for mixing ingredients for green salads, fruit salads, vegetable salads and pasta salads.
- Stores food properly and safely, marking the date and item.
- Reports necessary equipment repairs and maintenance to General Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen in a Cook or Prep Cook capacity is preferred.
- Requires a high level of commitment to customer service.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Ability to communicate with staff and guests in a clear, professional, and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
- Possess valid Food Handlers certificate, if required by state or local government.
