CareCore at Margaret Hall, a beautiful five star facility that is recognized by US News as a “Best” Long Term Care and Rehab facility, is seeking a Part time Dietary Cook This beautiful facility is located in the Heart of Cincinnati in the highly desirable Hyde Park/O’Bryonville neighborhood.
The position of Dietary Cook works to maintain a friendly and positive image for the center to callers, visitors, and guests through the responsibility of preparing residents meals, meal trays, washing dishes, etc. The position must function as a team member to ensure that work is accomplished, and quality service is delivered.
Hours 6a-2p
Including Holiday's and Weekends
JOB DUTIES
- Prepare and cook meals
- Assist with stocking food items
- Wash dishes
- Assist with preparing meal trays in timely manner for residents and deliver to the floors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED required
- Previous experience preferred
- Prior work experiences, preferably in a healthcare setting.

GENERAL PURPOSE:
To prepare food in accordance with prescribed resident diet specifications, menus, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations under the supervision of the Kitchen Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish this job.
· Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with others.
· Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
· Must maintain regular attendance on the job.
· Must be able to perform the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. | FOOD PREPARATION, SERVING AND CLEANING |
| Duties: Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion and temperature control procedures and facility policies.
Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes and utensils; check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of foods and supplies; adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety and infection control polices and procedures. |

B. | ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS |
| Duties: Assist the Dietary Manager and/or Kitchen Manager to direct activities of the Dietary employees; review menus prior to preparation of food; review and process diet changes and ensure menus are maintained and followed in accordance with established procedures; coordinate dietary services with other departments. |

C. | SAFETY AND SUPPLY FUNCTIONS |
| Duties: Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents and incidents. |

D. | SAFETY |
| Duties: Comply with, support and enforce all facility policies related to safety and infection control procedures including the proper use of personal protective equipment. |

|
E. | ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE |
| Duties: Exhibits expected ethical and legal standards Reinforces through example and where applicable, conducts training on the expectation that all employees that they supervise conform to these ethical and legal standards, including matters related to resident abuse or neglect.
When in doubt about whether a particular activity is proper, refrains from the activity and obtains guidance from their supervisor, the Director of Nursing or the Administrator.
Responds promptly and thoroughly when problems are reported by other employees. Assists in planning, implementing and monitoring corrective action, when problems including ethics and compliance problems and resident abuse or neglect are identified.
Maintains compliance in promoting HIPAA regulations on patient privacy and confidentiality in the delivery of care. Safeguards patient medical, financial and personal information. |
