Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet the dietary requirements and preferences of our residents.
- Ensure all meals are cooked and presented with care, maintaining high standards of taste, appearance, and portion control.
- Follow established menus and recipes while adhering to food safety regulations and dietary guidelines.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of special diets, including modified, allergen-free, or therapeutic diets, as required by residents' care plans.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of food products to prevent contamination and ensure safety.
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist in ordering and organizing food supplies.
- Work collaboratively with the dietary and nursing teams to ensure residents' nutritional needs are met.
- Assist in meal service, ensuring meals are served promptly and in a pleasant manner.
- Follow all sanitation and safety procedures in accordance with facility policies, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cook or in food preparation, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting, is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and dietary requirements for healthcare settings.
- Ability to prepare meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents, with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for residents through food.
