About the Job
Summary: Drill, cut, and shape items both manually and with machine tools when required to ensure products meet precise specifications. Also responsible for the dimensional inspection, material preparation, and part testing of the company's products during in-process and final inspection while following traveler, drawing, and specification instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders. Use manual and computer-controlled machinery.
- Surface preparation and application of primer and adhesives for rubber-to-metal bonding.
- Fabricate manufacturing fixtures for surface preparation and part trimming
- Check the accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
- Works closely with management and production personnel to ensure parts and processes comply with established specifications, standards, and guidelines.
- Maintains tools and repairs equipment in optimum working condition.
- Performs set-up and operation of various dimensional inspection equipment including, but not limited to Micro-Vu Video CMM, Optical Comparator, Digital Mics, and Calipers.
- Assists Inspector 3, the Lead Inspector as assigned.
- Inspects damaged parts, determine the nature of the repair, and use repair tools to rework or refinish worn or damaged parts.
- Fills out Inspection paperwork on a daily basis.
- Responsible for product acceptance or rejection and independently capable of completing applicable documentation.
- Complies with company policies and procedure guidelines with special attention to quality assurance and safety regulations. Ensures a safe work environment.
- Ensures the work area is cleaned and safe by securing tools, materials, and equipment in the proper area at the end of each workday.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 10 – 15 Years Prior work-related experience.
- Secondary Education or Work Experience Training Equivalent.
