Position Highlights:
The Controls Technician is a subject matter expert related to Building Automation Systems, their component parts, and related equipment. This position will responsible for implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of components within the overall Building Automation System.
All technicians within the Facilities Department are expected to work as a team for the betterment of the facility. For the best interest of the patients, visitors, and staff and due to the criticality of the systems under the purview of Facilities Department, all team members are to be first responders to facility emergencies, regardless of system or cause.

Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots, calibrates, repairs, and commissions field and panel mounted devices along with associated control algorithms for HVAC, and building environmental automations systems. Reviews and responds to out of band conditions for environmental parameters and equipment alarms.
- Design and implement DDC Ladder-Logic programming.
- Create and modify existing front end control graphics and dashboards.
- Assists in the design, installation, and commissioning of new and modifications of existing automation systems including, but not limited to, additional card readers and door controls, relocation of devices and sensors, VAV controllers, as well as implementation of various building automation hardware and computer software.
- Perform or assist contractors with inspection, installation, repair, and replacement of various components or systems, technical matters, and other issues, requiring regular and efficient communication with dispatch, project coordinators, and engineers.
- Conduct quality control checks of new projects and support retro commissioning efforts on existing systems to ensure proper installation methods are being followed and codes and Moffitt standards are being followed.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Minimum of five (5) years building automation control system installation and repair.

Minimum of three (3) years as controls technician for healthcare or campus based organization. - Valid Florida driver’s license required.
- Ability to work various work shifts and/or weekends as needed.
- Ability to travel between other Moffitt Cancer Center facilities.
- Evidence of a good driving record and maintain a good record per Moffitt policy.
