We need a Controls Engineer at our manufacturing facility in Greensboro, NC. The Controls Engineer will evaluate electrical controls process performance and design integrity as well as conduct improvement projects on multiple roofing manufacturing production lines within the manufacturing facility and to external customers.
This is an on-site position based in Greensboro, NC (not hybrid or work from home) that also requires 35% +/- travel.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Controls Engineer to join our innovative manufacturing team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a challenging and rewarding work environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of our automated control systems, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
1. Designing and implementing control systems for automated production machinery.
2. Troubleshooting and resolving issues with existing control systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
3. Developing and maintaining Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems to improve operator interaction with machinery.
4. Collaborating with the engineering team to design and implement new manufacturing processes.
5. Providing technical support and training to manufacturing staff to ensure optimal use of control systems.
6. Conducting regular system audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
7. Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in control engineering to drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficiency in HMI programming and design.
4. Strong knowledge of control system theory and industrial automation.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex control systems.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
7. A commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
