JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for direct oversight of an automation project's installation and engineering including, but not limited to, sub-contractor management, engineering development, equipment purchasing, programming, and operational commissioning. In addition to project installation, the Controls Project Manager must also be conscious of all budgetary impacts to redeem the highest possible GP. The budgets of all active projects will be reviewed regularly with the Controls Operations Manager.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generates project schedule and facilitates engineering/programming as needed to manage the installation of specific projects.
- Establishes bill of material, actuator and valve schedules as needed.
- Responsible for the procurement of all temperature controls materials for specific projects.
- Responsible for the scope of work development and coordination of controls specific sub-contractors such as equipment start-up technicians, low voltage electricians and air/water balancers.
- Interfaces regularly with project team (CMs, GCs, PMs, TCCs, etc..), customers and vendors.
- Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical and controls problems
- Responsible for tracking and projections of associated project budget and schedule.
- Responsible for maintaining installation standards and processes that increase project profitability.
- Facilitates field commissioning of control system programming, integrations and operability.
- Supports development of BAS customer interface (graphics, alarming, trending etc..) as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-10 years of experience in the HVAC automation field.
- Bachelor's degree or extensive installation and programming background.
- Solid understanding of a wide variety of mechanical HVAC systems.
- Proficient in a multitude of communication protocols including, but not limited to, BACnet, LONworks, and Modbus.
- Proficient in Tridium, Trane Tracer TU/SC or Distech and a solid understanding of control system architectures.
- Proficient in Microsoft based software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project).
- Driver's license and reliable transportation.
