Controls Engineering Manager - Automationtechies

Founded over 30 years ago and based in the Akron, OH area, our client is a prominent OEM renowned for its systems integration and manufacturing expertise. The company employs over 20 experienced employees, many with over 20 years of loyal service, underscores its commitment to excellence and stability. They predominantly supply equipment and services to the Rubber and Plastics Industries, ensuring high-quality solutions for industrial manufacturing companies.

Summary: Looking for a hands-on manager that is comfortable managing technically complex projects involving multiple disciples – electrical engineering, mechanical design, software development, electronic engineering. Familiarity with automation/controls (PLC, HMI, Drives), designing control systems for industrial processes, servo control systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

You will manage a small group of engineers across a few engineering disciplines. 

Ideally looking for an Electrical Engineer with mechanical aptitude.

Travel required – 20-30% domestic & international

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors of Science in Engineering and/or related field.
• Hands-on proficiency with Automation & Controls and Electrical Engineering design
• Five years experience in Engineering/Technical leadership/management role.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities; goal orientation and strategic and tactical planning
• Problem solving skills with ability to use good business judgment and make decisions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills. Team oriented with good customer service/interaction skills
• Demonstrated planning, organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to travel to both domestic and international locations
