A bit about us:
We are seeking a strong Controls Engineer to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Execute commissioning tasks and oversee the development of new and alterations to existing electrical systems, PLC, HMI programs, safety systems, and industrial control systems, providing support for tablet presses and related equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and integrate Control Systems for the Table Press Division, encompassing programming and hardware selection.
- Configure, program, commission, specify, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs.
- Handle configuration, commissioning, specification, and troubleshooting of AC, DC, and servo-drives and motors.
- Manage Control and Safety systems, including configuration, commissioning, specification, and troubleshooting.
- Offer support to the service group as required, troubleshooting customer issues with installed presses.
- Assist in the development of product manuals and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with various electrical industry and safety standards like NEC, NPPA 79, UL, and CE.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with agencies including the FDA.
- Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering in Press Design.
- Participate in the quoting process for retrofits and other tablet presses.

Job Details
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Rockwell's Studio 5000, with desirable experience in Legacy Rockwell developments and other development environments.
- Preferential familiarity with Indusoft 2020 and FactoryTalk for HMI developments, with other development experience as an asset.
- Thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles.
- Proficient in reading electrical schematics.
- Experience with safety systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with high-speed data acquisition systems is beneficial; current standard is HBM, PMX for strain gauge and load cell.
- Competency in Windows OS and Ethernet communications.
- Bonus: SQL Database development and reporting.
- Ability to troubleshoot Legacy hardware.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
- Consideration will also be given to candidates with a Trade School/Associates degree coupled with relevant work experience.
