Leading manufacturer of building supplies is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Description:
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the Manufacturing Playbook and Playlist. Support and apply the Playbook/Playlist in all areas.
- Troubleshoots PLC and HMI programs, instrumentation, and drives on the production lines with an analytical systems-based approach.
- Analyzes data to identify where quantifiable improvements will have the most impact in a rapidly changing manufacturing environment and manage those identified improvements at a multi production line, high speed asphalt roofing manufacturing facility.
- Identifies gaps in automation deployment and programs and/or works with the Plant Systems team to implement improvements in PLC programs.
- Facilitates change management and sustainment documentation such as engineering drawings, manuals, troubleshooting guides, process flow diagrams, and spare parts lists.
- Performs electrical and controls layouts, updates and creates electrical drawings in CAD or other electrical drawing software.
- Works cooperatively with a cross functional team of Engineers, Operations, and Maintenance personnel, understanding the needs of each department’s primary focus.

Job Details
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field from an accredited university (Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Controls Engineering Preferred) AND 3 years professional experience.
- Extensive background in PLC code development.
- Experience with motion control systems using VFDs and Servos (Siemens preferred.)
- Electrical distribution troubleshooting and design experience, understanding NEC.
- HMI programming experience (Aveva preferred.)
- Knowledgeable user of AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Office.
