Position Overview
The Controls Engineer will design, install, and integrate control systems to monitor machinery and processes for client projects. Responsibilities include preparing project submittals, coordinating with vendors, selecting materials, assisting with fabrication, and supporting field startup and calibration. This role also involves providing technical expertise for large-scale projects and managing smaller projects independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers and the Director of Engineering.
- Design and develop control systems to meet project requirements.
- Gain expertise in controller programming, SCADA applications, telemetry techniques, and project-specific instruments.
- Test and implement control system hardware and software.
- Maintain detailed project documentation in compliance with company standards.
- Support on-site installation, startup, and testing activities.
- Ensure tasks are completed within budget and schedule constraints.
- Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Process Control (water/wastewater experience preferred).
- Proficiency with Instrumentation, PLC, HMI, SCADA, and telemetry systems.
- Skills:
- Familiarity with control system devices, Microsoft Office, and CAD software for electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of construction and engineering contract formats, including AIA documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to foster positive client relationships.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $90,000–$110,000 per year, with yearly potential bonuses.
