Key Responsibilities:
- PLC Programming & Troubleshooting: Develop, modify, and maintain PLC programs to control machinery and manufacturing systems. Troubleshoot PLC issues in both production and operational settings, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Automation System Design: Design and implement automation solutions that meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements. Work with a team to define system specifications and ensure proper integration of all system components.
- System Debugging & Optimization: Perform system diagnostics, identify root causes of system failures, and implement solutions to improve system performance. Ensure optimal performance of all automated processes.
- Project Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects from concept to completion. Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation upgrades. Drive initiatives to increase productivity and reduce downtime through technology enhancements.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of system designs, programs, troubleshooting steps, and modifications.
- Collaboration & Training: Work closely with operators, maintenance teams, and leadership to ensure systems are well-understood and properly maintained. Offer training to junior engineers and technicians on automation best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Proven experience in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms).
- Hands-on experience with automation system design, programming, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment, ideally in packaging or related industries.
