Travel: Some overnight travel
Salary & Benefits: Starting salary of $79,000-100,000 commensurate with education, training, and experience. Very competitive benefits package includes health care, 401(k), performance bonus, PTO etc.
POSITION OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE:
- Design, programming, implementation, and documentation of the functional electrical and robotics control elements of company products. This role is responsible for the design of the electrical schematics and panels (hardware), and the design/writing of the code (software).
- Manage multiple concurrent controls engineering projects while ensuring their success in meeting their respective objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Coordinate with inter-departmental personnel in the design, fabrication/manufacturing, programming and testing of controls and robotic systems.
- Assist with the development, planning and execution of onsite installations and startups.
- Serve as the in-house advocate for end-user functionality and integration of the company's systems into the customer's workflow.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience in PLC programming of industrial control systems. Experience in baseline robotics setup and programming preferred (e.g. Fanuc, Motoman).
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Knowledge of a second language, especially Spanish or Japanese is helpful.
- Must be able to work under time and budget pressures.
- Be able to read and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical information as appropriate.
- Must have computer & software skills adequate for engineering design (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) or to interpret and create operational reports, budgets, and presentations.
- Critical thinking skills to solve engineering problems and onsite logistical challenges
- Software knowledge
- PLC Programming (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi preferred)
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)
- AutoCAD or DS
- SOLIDWORKS or similar
- Hands-on mechanically inclined, and a core understanding of industrial machines and how they function.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Controls, or a related field associated with manufactured electrical control systems, or a combination of Education and practical related experience.
- Driver license required. Must be eligible to travel on commercial airlines within the U.S.
