We have partnered with a Global Packaging and Printing Company to identify a skilled Controls Engineer for their facility near Cincinnati, Ohio. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role focuses on providing technical expertise and support for all automation and control systems within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation Support:

  • Provide technical expertise for control systems, hardware, and software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues to maintain production schedules.

• System Analysis and Maintenance:

  • Conduct root cause analysis on control system failures.
  • Implement preventive measures to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Regularly audit the performance of automation systems and recommend improvements.

• Training and Development:

  • Train operators and technicians in troubleshooting and maintaining control systems.
  • Deliver technical training programs and provide ongoing coaching to staff.

• Project Management:

  • Define control system requirements to meet equipment and process needs.
  • Generate cost estimates and schedules for control system upgrades and new installations.
  • Support cross-functional teams and lead efforts to implement automation strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in SCADA Systems and PLC programming.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing automation and controls issues.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute cost-effective automation solutions.
