We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team and take charge of designing control system details, configuring instrumentation, overseeing implementation, conducting testing, documenting processes, and providing training. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient execution of control system projects.

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team and take charge of designing control system details, configuring instrumentation, overseeing implementation, conducting testing, documenting processes, and providing training. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient execution of control system projects.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of Industrial Controls experience in the engineering or construction industry or a related field.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Bachelors discipline, or equivalent Industrial controls experience from a Technical College.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, including ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
- Proficiency in Rockwell Automation Hardware.
- Strong working knowledge of Allen-Bradley suite and controls products (RsLogix, RsView, Factory Talk ME/SE).
- Familiarity with networking protocols, particularly Ethernet/IP.
- Experience and knowledge of Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- 5 years of Industrial Controls experience in the engineering or construction industry or a related field.
- Proficiency with Aveva System Platform (Wonderware).
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to assess potential projects and submit proposals.
- Read and interpret diagrams and documentation, and communicate with customers to understand objectives and preferences.
- Develop the overall architecture and communication strategy between control system elements.
- Define and document control system functionality in collaboration with customers and stakeholders.
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOMs), IO lists, and requirements for control panels.
- Serve as the technical lead for small projects, including building PLC and HMI templates.
- Develop PLC programs in various languages (e.g., ladder, function block).
- Develop Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to meet project requirements.
- Develop hardware and software test plans and write simulation logic for testing PLC and HMI systems.
- Develop training plans and materials for operations and maintenance personnel.
- Communicate and coordinate with installation team management to ensure adherence to documented processes.
- Test installed systems to verify functionality and adherence to design specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems during system startup, including software and hardware interface issues.
- Train customers on the use and operation of client-specific system integration software.
- Interface with software and application product manufacturers and vendors for problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Collaborate with others to address design problems as necessary.
- Respond to service calls to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair programming and system failures.
- Mentor and train less experienced employees.
