About the Job
Mahoney Environmental Solutions, LLC is looking for a Controller to join our team in our Woodridge, IL office. The Controller oversees the accounting operations of the company. This position will manage financial reporting, capital management and daily finance transactions. This position will also manage the Oracle ERP system, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and other important accounting processes.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, attentive, and efficient. They can complete work skillfully and independently. Directs and manages company fiscal records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulations and current IT trends.
This is a hybrid position with 3 days in office.
Essential Functions:
- Documentation – Maintain an accounting system of procedures and guidelines to follow. Implement controls to minimize risk. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. Recommends and develops policies, procedures and systems, in conjunction with the various operating groups within the company to meet company objectives.
- Reporting – Collaborate with auditors and provide needed information as requested. Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports and ensure they meet accounting guidelines and principles.
- Financial performance review – Provide financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations as requested or required. Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
- Lead – Works to optimize the handling of bank relationships and initiates needed strategies for improvement. Builds, develops and manages accounting team capable of carrying out needed initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
- CPA certificate is a plus. Public accounting experience is preferred.
- At least 7 years of related experience is required.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Oracle ERP experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience in IFRS.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
- A record of developing financial processes.
