Job Details:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Controller for our manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and financial planning of our organization. This position requires a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, and the ability to drive financial strategy and planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy work place, and is well-versed in working closely with senior management.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
2. Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required).
3. Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
4. Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firms performance.
5. Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations (hiring/terminating policies) and other corporate policies.
6. Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
7. Responsible for all corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance and related activities. This includes the coordination of these activities with all satellite offices as well.
8. You must have experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
9. Supervise the preparation of the annual budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
10. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
9. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a hands-on management style.
10. Ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries.
11. Experience in the manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
