This well-established telecommunications company based in Maine is
seeking a Controllerto oversee financial operations of the Company
and other managed organizations, playing a crucial role as they expand
services. You will serve on the Executive Team and report directly to
the CFO working primarily remote (from anywhere in the US) on a
full-time schedule (Eastern Time).
What were looking for:
- BA in Accounting
- 7-10 years of increasing in accounting/controller roles.
- Big 4, or other large public accounting experience, and/or CPA
license preferred.
- 2-3 years applied experience in governmental accounting and
knowledge of Governmental GAAP.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for
front-facing role.
- Experience working in small-medium organizations that are in growth
mode.
- Experience and knowledge managing multiple subsidiaries and/or
mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
- Experience with non-profit/NGO/government boards and their
information requirements.
- Willingness to mentor new management team members in standard
financial practices.
What Youll be Doing:
- Ensuring accuracy of financial records and compliance with
regulations.
- Leading a department of 5 full time accounting employees.
- Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger,
and month-end close processes for the individual entities and the
consolidated company.
- Analyzingand reporting on cash management and flow.
- Reconcilinginter-company transactions and manage inter-entity
allocations.
- Preparingaccurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets,
income statements, cash flow reports) in compliance with GAAP.
- Assisting with year-end audit and tax filings.
- Ensuringthat each entitys financial activities are aligned with the
overall companys accounting policies.
- Managingthe implementation of accounting software and support
systems integration across entities.
- Frequently interactingwith customers andparticipating in Board-level
discussions.
- Providingguidance on accounting issues to customers and assisting
with customer audits.
- Assisting the FP&A team with various project-level, customer-level,
and company budgets
- Ensuringcompliance with federal, state, and local financial
regulations.
- Designing and implementing standard accounting controls in
compliance with GAAP.
- Creatingand managingthe accounting calendar, assisting with tasks as
needed.
- Overseeing project responsibilities across Finance as well as
additional strategic project assignments as determined by the
executive team.
- Assisting Senior Board Financial Advisor on external financial
matters.
Compensation & Benefits:
This job offers an annual salary of $120K $160K and a set of
