Responsibilities & Objectives
Elemica’s Controller, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, is integral to our success and serves as a trusted, dedicated advisor. Key to this role is being able to articulate value.
This role will be responsible for managing the accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance requirements while providing insights that drive key business decisions. Ideally, you will have experience working in SaaS environments, a strong understanding of subscription-based revenue models, and exceptional leadership skills.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
- Assist financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to support scalable growth and profitability
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive operational efficiency, revenue growth, and cost optimization
- Develop and maintain SaaS-specific financial metrics (ARR, churn, etc.).
- Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable financial regulations
- Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies to safeguard assets
- Manage audits, tax filings, and other external financial reporting requirements
- Assist with collaboration with senior leadership to drive strategic financial planning and decision-making
- Support due diligence and financial modeling for mergers, acquisitions, or other strategic initiatives
- Oversee and enhance the financial systems and tools needed to support scaling operations
Financial Operations & Controls
- Oversee all accounting, tax, and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and GAAP
- Establish and improve financial processes, systems, and internal controls to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
- Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and working capital to maintain a strong financial position
Performance Management & Reporting
- Assist the development and maintenance of financial dashboards and KPIs to track performance across departments
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, integrity, and collaboration within the finance organization
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience as a senior leader in SaaS technology, preferably in private equity backed organization(s)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606), and subscription billing models
- Proven experience with financial modeling & reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Proven track record of driving financial strategy, managing P&L, and scaling finance operations in a high-growth environment
- Experience managing relationships with external partners and financial institutions
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with financial systems and tools relevant to SaaS businesses (Intacct, Open Air, Salesforce, Tipalti, Avalara)
- Proven accountability and excellent interpersonal skills; the confidence to be an honest advocate who is willing to speak up when needed
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to get to the root cause of internal and external problems; ability to recommend resolutions
- Must respond to client requests with empathy, compassion, strategic advisement, and rapidity
- Desire to work with a collaborative global team with teams in the USA, Germany, UK, Netherlands, and India
Compensation
Based on experience and will consist of base salary, performance bonus, 401K, medical, and comprehensive benefits package.
