We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the healthcare sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a financial leader to contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare services. The Permanent Controller will play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations, providing strategic insights to enhance our financial performance and business opportunities. This role offers an excellent platform for professional growth, with exposure to a broad range of financial operations within the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
3. Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the executive team.
4. Continually improve the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
5. Oversee the production of monthly reports, financial statements and cash flow projections for use by executive management.
6. Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation.
7. Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
8. Communicate financial metrics to senior executives and provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs.
9. Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner.
10. Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained.
11. Support the CFO with fiscal preparation and management activities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA or CPA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position with a proven record of success.
3. Knowledge of healthcare sector finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.
4. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems as well as federal and state financial regulations.
5. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
7. Experience in a complex healthcare setting with matrix reporting relationships preferred.
8. Ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries.
9. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to clearly explain complex financial information.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; proficiency in accounting software.
