We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Consulting Controller for our Engineering firm. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, leading our financial management and accounting operations. This role is perfect for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is well-versed in working closely with senior management.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial and accounting operations including receivables, payables, balance sheet reconciliation, and month-end close procedures.
2. Provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis and other projects requested by senior management.
3. Implement, upgrade and monitor software systems to streamline financial operations and reporting.
4. Perform variance analysis and prepare detailed reports, both periodically and ad-hoc.
5. Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported in a timely and accurate manner.
6. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
7. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
8. Interact with various internal departments and external vendors, providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues.
9. Participate in the development of strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts, providing expert financial input and leadership.
10. Stay up-to-date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Engineering industry.
3. Proficient in balance sheet reconciliation, month-end close procedures, variance analysis, payables, and receivables.
4. Experience in implementing and managing financial software systems.
5. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
6. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
9. High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
