We are looking for a driven and experienced Consulting Controller to join our dynamic team on a temporary basis. This is a mostly remote position, providing you with the flexibility and convenience of working from home, while still being an integral part of our Accounting and Finance team. This role is perfect for an individual who is passionate about finance, has a keen eye for detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, as well as experience handling payroll entries, accounts payable and receivable, and annual budgeting. The Consulting Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial stability.
Non-Profit and CPA experience is highly preferred!

Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Controller, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
3. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
4. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
5. Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
6. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
7. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
8. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
9. Participating in preparation for the annual audit.
10. Collaborating with other team members to support overall company goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Consulting Controller position, you must possess the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
2. CPA or related certification is a plus.
3. Minimum of 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
4. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
5. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
6. Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
7. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
8. Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
9. Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market, and business environments.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Non-profit experience is a plus.
13. Experience with the following is required: Payroll entries, Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Monthly Reporting, 990, Single Audit, Annual Budget, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, and Financial Statements.
