Job Details:
A leading player in the manufacturing industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a financial professional who is looking to take their career to the next level. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of the company. This includes the preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. The role requires an individual who is not just a number cruncher, but a strategic thinker who can provide financial leadership and direction to the organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise all finance and accounting functions including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analyses.
2. Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
3. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
4. Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
5. Oversee the preparation of all financial audits, liaise with external auditors as necessary.
6. Develop and manage financial systems/models and oversee IT systems.
7. Participate in strategic planning, fraud prevention, and budget development.
8. Oversee the operations management, focusing on high performance and cost-effective management of resources.
9. Participate in performance management and professional development activities.
10. Implement and manage the company's ERP system, Syspro, to ensure smooth and efficient business operations.
11. Oversee the costing, variance, and Bill of Materials (BOM) in the manufacturing processes.
12. Ensure compliance with SOX and other relevant financial regulations.
13. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred but not required
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a proven track record of success.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, with a particular focus on Syspro ERP system.
6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and understanding of SOX compliance.
7. Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
8. Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on MS Office suite and financial software.
9. An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral, written, and persuasive skills.
10. Excellent problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
11. Ability to manage and lead staff to excellent performance.
12. Experience in the manufacturing industry is a strong advantage.
