We are seeking an experienced and driven Controller to join our dynamic finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a strong background in fund accounting and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the finance industry, a knack for numbers, and the ability to effectively manage financial operations. The Controller will play a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing our financial activities, providing strategic financial insights, and ensuring our financial processes are compliant and efficient.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounting operations
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Liaise with our CFO and executive team to make viable financial decisions.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. A valid CPA or related certification.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field. Prior experience in public accounting is highly desirable.
4. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
5. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
6. Experience with creating financial statements and financial reporting.
7. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
8. Strong understanding of fund accounting, financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, and general ledger.
9. Exceptional leadership skills, with an ability to inspire and motivate a team.
10. Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
