Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations including billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly and annual reports, in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
- Monitor the financial performance of the company and conduct regular financial analysis.
- Evaluate and manage risk, perform internal audits, and oversee regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with management on the development and execution of funding strategies.
- Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors).
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or related qualification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax preparation, credit/collections, and expense reporting.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting, strategic planning, and budget management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize assignments.
- Experience with contract negotiation, capital investment, and pricing decisions.
- Ability to work closely with a senior management team.
- Familiarity with IT/Business infrastructure.
