Summary/Objective:
The Controller will direct the financial operations of the company including cost accounting, monthly financial statements preparation, budgets, tax compliance issues, and all other financial matters, supporting the General Manager(s) and reporting directly to the CEO and CFO for the platform companies

This is a Full-Time Salary position required to work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends.

Summary/Objective:
The Controller will direct the financial operations of the company including cost accounting, monthly financial statements preparation, budgets, tax compliance issues, and all other financial matters, supporting the General Manager(s) and reporting directly to the CEO and CFO for the platform companies
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the company values, vision, and mission.

- Follow policies and procedures.
- Prepare and issue monthly financial statements for two entities with heavy manufacturing operations and one entity with distribution operations.
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and reconciliations.
- Ensure all the cost accounting transactions through the system are accurate by reviewing material transactions and validating the labor/overhead standards are calculated correctly.
- Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Actively participate in the pricing process, and support pricing decisions with actual data.
- Explain and provide feedback to the different entities and departments regarding the monthly PL and BS variances
- Manage, challenge, and oversee the finance team across the different entities.
- Collaborates with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit.
- Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
- Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
- Prepare financial information for the outside accountants can complete tax returns.
- Determine depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advise management on actions regarding the purchase, lease, or disposal of such items.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Five years or more of related experience required in a manufacturing environment.
- CPA designation highly preferred.
Skills Required:

- Excellent and highly accurate math and accounting skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, at least two ERP systems.
- Highly proficient in Excel (pivot tables, databases, and logic formulas).
- Business intelligence software experience is also valuable.
- Excellent understanding and working experience with standard and actual cost accounting processes.
