About the Job
A respected 3rd generation construction company in Northern Scottsdale is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Controller to join their team. Due to the retirement of the current Controller, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a pivotal role at a well-established organization with a strong reputation in the industry.
With a dedicated team of approximately 40 employees, our company specializes in construction projects across the region. We’re looking for an individual who is committed to precision and efficiency and can contribute to the financial health and growth of the business.
Controller Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Payroll: Oversee payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Fixed Assets Management: Track and manage company assets in compliance with accounting principles.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Supervise and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure accuracy and timely payments.
- Work in Progress (WIP): Manage and report on work in progress to ensure proper project accounting.
- Invoicing: Oversee invoicing processes for clients and ensure timely billing.
- Reporting: Generate regular financial reports to assist management in decision-making.
Controller Background Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar senior accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and construction accounting practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
