Our company is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Controller to lead our financial department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our financial operations, from budgeting and financial accounting to risk management and strategic planning. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned financial professional with a strong background in accounting to take on a challenging and rewarding role within our dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Controller, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
2. Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report, the annual budget, and financial forecasts, providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
4. Implement and manage comprehensive risk management protocols to protect company assets and report accurate financial results.
5. Develop financial and tax strategies in line with company goals and oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies.
6. Collaborate with the executive team on strategic planning initiatives, providing financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
7. Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory actions.
8. Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Controller position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA, CMA, or related certification is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
3. Proven experience in financial accounting, including budgeting, risk management, strategic planning, and financial reporting.
4. Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and direct the financial team.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to strategically interpret financial data and metrics.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information and complex financial concepts to stakeholders.
8. Proficient in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
