Position Overview:
As the Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial and accounting operations of our organization. Reporting directly to the SVP-Finance, you'll be responsible for ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. Your duties will encompass managing day-to-day accounting functions, AP/AR, invoicing, collections, internal controls, audit, tax, and budgeting. We're seeking a detail-oriented professional comfortable with handling the full accounting cycle, collaborating with a predominantly remote team of both professional and clerical accounting staff across multiple lines of business.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a diverse team, ranging from clerical to Assistant Controller levels.
Oversee monthly internal and external reporting, collaborating with various stakeholders.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end closings and financial statement preparation.
Drive the budgeting and forecasting processes, closely partnering with leadership.
Assist in preparing for board meetings and presentations.
Coordinate the annual external audit and tax preparation activities, engaging with external partners.
Undertake additional tasks and projects as required to support the overall functioning of the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Five or more years of professional accounting experience, preferably a blend of public and industry roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA certification is desirable but not mandatory.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, GP/Great Plains, or NetSuite.
Proficiency with Solver financial reporting software.
Previous exposure to private equity environments.
Familiarity with systems implementation processes.
Work Environment:
Full-time, exempt position with a hybrid model of office and remote work.
Availability as needed, regardless of the day or time, for management candidates.
Work may involve occasional travel and varying schedules based on business needs.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Ability to work at a desk for prolonged periods and operate a computer.
Capability to lift items weighing between 10-50 lbs occasionally.
Strong hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
Visual acuity for keyboard use, equipment operation, and reading technical information.
