Controller - Real Estate Private Equity
Responsibilities:
- Generate and manage capital calls to investors.
- Liaise with auditors and tax accountants for funds and management company.
- Serve as point of contact for fund administration and compliance.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.
- Manage the month-end close process, including account reconciliation and journal entries.
- Implement and maintain financial software systems to enhance reporting.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and governmental accounting matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to optimize financial performance.
- Prepare reports for leadership that provide insights into financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience within private equity real estate, public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of debits, credits, account reconciliation, and technical accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software applications and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
