seeking a skilled Controller to lead our accounting team and oversee the financial operations of the company. This role involves working cross-functionally with FP&A, legal, and other business functions, offering a broad range of responsibilities and significant opportunities for career growth. The Controller will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting strategic initiatives, and driving process improvements to support our mission of seamless parcel delivery. Position is in office with potential for hybrid.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team to maintain a high-performing, collaborative environment.
Work closely with FP&A, legal, and operational teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
Foster cross-functional communication and ensure financial insights are incorporated into decision-making.
Oversee Daily Accounting Operations
Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Collaborate with the offshored billing team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, revenue recognition, and issue resolution.
Ensure accounting processes are executed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and standards.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership.
Support leadership with financial modeling and scenario planning for strategic initiatives.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Collaborate with FP&A to develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
Identify and explain variances between actuals and forecasts, recommending corrective actions.
Internal Controls and Compliance
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Ensure all financial practices align with company policies and industry standards.
Oversee audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
Process and Systems Optimization
Utilize and enhance the functionality of Cargowise to streamline financial and operational workflows.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in accounting processes and implement best practices.
Drive automation and innovation in reporting and financial management tools.
Cash Flow and Treasury Management
Oversee cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and vendor relationships to optimize working capital.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting/finance, including team management.
Experience in the logistics, transportation, or last-mile delivery industry is a strong plus.
Familiarity with Cargowise or similar ERP systems is strongly preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
Mandarin a plus
