Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis, to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to support the operational needs of the business.
Collaborate with senior leadership team and external accounting support to develop and execute financial strategies that support the company’s rapid expansion and long-term goals.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to inform decision-making and drive business growth.
Participate in strategic planning sessions to evaluate new business opportunities, including potential acquisitions and new location openings.
Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales tax reporting and income tax filings.
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development.
Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of accounting staff, ensuring the team has the skills and resources to support the company’s growth.
Implement systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the accounting function.
Evaluate and implement accounting software and technology solutions that enhance financial reporting, data analysis, and operational efficiency.
Ensure the integrity of financial data by maintaining robust internal controls and regularly reviewing accounting processes.
Lead the integration of financial systems during the opening of new locations, ensuring seamless financial operations across all units.
Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team, highlighting key metrics, trends, and potential risks.
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, such as pricing strategies, cost management, and investment opportunities.
Develop and monitor KPIs to track the financial performance of each location and the overall business.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role. Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing staff.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
