We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Permanent Controller - Property Accounting to join our dynamic team in the Accounting and Finance industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who is looking to take their career to the next level by joining a fast-growing company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of property accounting, including but not limited to, managing a team of accountants, preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and conducting CAM reconciliations. This position requires a hands-on approach and a strong understanding of all financial aspects related to property management.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all property accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3. Conduct CAM reconciliations and manage related activities.
4. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and filing requirements.
5. Develop and implement effective accounting policies and procedures.
6. Collaborate with auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
7. Direct the budgeting and forecasting processes.
8. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
9. Manage and mentor a team of accountants, fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth and development.
10. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. An advanced degree or certification such as a CPA is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in property accounting.
3. Proven experience with CAM reconciliations.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
5. Excellent knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Experience in managing and leading a team.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
11. Must be a proactive and hands-on individual who will be involved in the growth and success of the organization.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and various accounting software.
