Controller/Plant Controller - Manufacturing-East Bay
About the company: This is a dynamic and growing global manufacturing company with a presence across multiple international sites. We are looking for a Plant Controller to support our operational leadership team and drive financial performance across our sites. This role will report to the Corporate Controller and is onsite in the East Bay
Position Overview:
As the Plant Controller, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial health of manufacturing operations, specifically at our East Bay site/headquarters. You will be the primary financial business partner to the VP of Operations, providing insight and analysis on the financial performance, business trends, and cost structure of the company.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong accounting and finance background in manufacturing, who can effectively manage financial reporting and analysis across multiple international sites, while growing and developing in the role.
**Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight:
- Manage the **P&L** and **Balance Sheet** for this site, ensuring accurate reporting and timely financial close.
- Provide detailed financial analysis to the VP of Operations to drive business decisions and improve operational performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across multiple sites (Singapore, Malaysia, China, Vietnam) to understand and report on financial performance.
Site Financial Management:
- Act as the financial lead for this site, directly overseeing a small team (approx. 5) in the accounting and finance department.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financials, with a particular focus on inventory management, cost control, and margin analysis.
- Support the ongoing system upgrade and ensure financial processes are aligned with the new system.
Cross-Site Coordination:
- Partner with teams internationally to ensure consistency in financial practices, reporting, and operational support.
- Liaise with external providers and vendors across international sites to resolve financial issues and ensure smooth operations.
Operational Support:
- Drive financial and operational efficiencies, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs.
- Analyze and communicate key business performance metrics to the leadership team, helping guide decisions around operations, capacity, and resource allocation.
Business Insight:
- Provide the executive team with timely and accurate insights on business performance, including profitability, cost structures, and potential areas of improvement.
- Support and contribute to strategic business discussions regarding growth initiatives, expansion plans, and financial projections.
