As a controller, your role is crucial in maintaining the financial integrity of our client's services. Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in accounting, with a preference for 7 to 10 years in a mixed software and hardware industry setting, including public accounting or audit roles.
- A bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement, with a CPA certification being highly desirable, whether active or inactive.
- A thorough understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) is essential.
- Technological proficiency, particularly with experience in developing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Demonstrated personal integrity, credibility, and a strong commitment to the organization's mission.
- A dedication to building, mentoring, and maintaining a diverse team, with the ability to take initiative and delegate tasks effectively.
- Analytical and organizational skills that contribute to strategic data interpretation rather than mere reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven track record of conveying key data to senior management, boards, and external partners.
- The capability and enthusiasm for making complex financial concepts understandable to individuals at all levels, including those without a financial background.
Responsibilities:
- Streamline the monthly financial statement close process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement strategic measures to reduce the monthly close period to 5 working days by the next financial year.
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Standardize transaction coding to maintain consistency across general ledger accounts and projects.
- Uphold robust internal controls to safeguard the integrity of revenue, cost, and expenditure transactions.
- Foster productive relationships with auditors to ensure a smooth and timely annual audit process.
- Deliver precise and regular financial data analysis, maintaining transparent communication with senior leadership.
- Support financial analysts with comprehensive trend analysis and budget variance reviews.
- Manage financial and project accounting to align revenues and expenditures with budgetary provisions consistently.
- Enhance cash flow management by assessing accounts receivable for collection risks and accounts payable for potential early payment discounts.
- Coordinate audit activities effectively, overseeing reporting, compliance, and various accounting functions.
- Align accounting policies and procedures with US GAAP standards, ensuring uniform application across the organization.
- Capitalize on the current accounting team's strengths to optimize overall performance.
