About the Job
Directs the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. The Controller is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing financial policies
- Overseeing the accounting staff
- Ensuring compliance with financial and accounting regulations
- Preparing and managing budgets
- Managing financial reports and documents, such as balance sheets and income statements
- Handling preparation for tax returns
- Performing financial risk assessments and doing internal audits
- Assisting with corporate financial decisions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
- Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Office Software applications, particularly Excel, and have the ability to learn and reconcile to other customized systems
- The ability to analyze accounting data and communicate effectively at a senior level to explain results and variances is essential
- Candidate must thrive in an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and fast paced work environment, requires strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Highly collaborative individual with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships, high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
