Position Overview: The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all financial and administrative operations. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, this position requires a hands-on leader who can ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, optimize processes, and lead a team of seven administrative and bookkeeping professionals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger & Financial Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger; prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a team of seven administrative and bookkeeping staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Finance & Banking Duties: Manage banking relationships, cash flow, and financial forecasting to support the company’s operational and strategic goals.
- Payroll Oversight: Supervise payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
- Point of Sales & Ordering System: Monitor and manage the point of sales electronic ordering system, ensuring efficient operations and data accuracy.
- Shipping & Customer Fulfillment: Collaborate with the operations team to ensure on-time shipping and delivery to customers.
- OSHA Implementation: Oversee and enforce OSHA compliance programs to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with payroll systems and point of sales platforms is a plus.
