Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Directing financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with President, COO and CEO concerning strategic planning.
3. Reviewing and analyzing financial reports for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
4. Coordinating the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.
5. Developing and implementing budgeting processes, including the establishment of budgets, review and approval of budgets, and the monitoring of actual performance against budgets.
6. Managing the capital request and budgeting processes, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
7. Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
8. Enhancing, developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accreditation is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proven experience in financial reporting, strategic planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Excellent leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead a team to meet financial targets.
6. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial colleagues.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic orientation and an attention to detail.
8. Proficiency in accounting software, databases and MS Office.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
10. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
