As an Assistant Controller in our company, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations alongside the CFO. We are a thriving construction company, and we are looking for an individual with either Construction Accounting experience or who has experience working with both Sage 300 and Timberline who can assist in managing our financial operations. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks, from managing accounts payable to generating financial reports. You will be working with various software such as Sage 300, Timberline, and Excel. This is an on-site position that requires deep understanding of construction accounting, job cost accounting, WIP schedules, AIA, and Textura.
Responsibilities
1. Assist the Controller in managing all aspects of the company's accounting functions.
2. Prepare and analyze job cost reports, WIP schedules, and other financial reports.
3. Manage accounts payable, including reviewing and processing invoices, preparing checks, and maintaining vendor relationships.
4. Oversee the preparation of quotes and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
5. Maintain an accurate inventory management system, including tracking and reporting on inventory levels.
6. Utilize Sage 300 and Timberline for various accounting tasks.
7. Use Excel and other tools to perform vlookup, generate reports, and analyze data.
8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
10. Participate in financial audits, providing necessary information and documentation.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar role in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in accounting software like Sage 300 and Timberline.
4. Strong understanding of construction accounting and job cost accounting.
5. Knowledge of WIP schedules, AIA, and Textura.
6. Experience in managing accounts payable, preparing quotes and purchase orders, and maintaining inventory.
7. Advanced Excel skills, including vlookup and data analysis.
8. Excellent financial reporting skills, with the ability to generate and analyze reports.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various departments.
10. High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills
