We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team in the finance industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our company's financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role will also involve the management of our accounting staff and the construction of our financial strategy.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, CFO and senior management.
3. Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
4. Conduct continuous review of financial, cost and budgetary controls.
5. Develop, implement and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
6. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure timely and accurate reporting of all monthly, quarterly and year-end financial information.
7. Manage and supervise the accounting department to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports.
8. Oversee the construction accounting processes, including job cost reporting and project profitability analysis.
9. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required. An MBA, CPA, or related designation is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a senior financial managerial position.
3. Proven experience in the construction accounting field is a must.
4. At least 2 years of experience in a management role, leading and developing an accounting team.
5. Strong knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
6. Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, data analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
7. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
8. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills.
9. Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
10. Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
