We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller for our growing construction firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. This position plays a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as it pertains to fiscal management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and securing of new funding.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller for our growing construction firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. This position plays a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as it pertains to fiscal management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and securing of new funding.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
- Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CFO and the leadership team.
- Develop and implement robust financial management systems, processes and controls to support our growth.
- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans.
- Develop financial and tax strategies.
- Manage the capital request and budgeting processes.
- Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic direction.
- Manage the preparation of the company's budget and report to the company on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances.
- Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
- Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proven experience with budgeting and forecasting, and construction WIP (Work in Progress).
