About the Job
- Oversee daily accounting and financial functions for a not-for-profit organization
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, grants, fixed assets, taxes, investments, and financial reporting
- Collaborate with branch staff to ensure accurate financial records
- Support CFO with management information system functions
- Handle financial reporting for housing projects and related entities
- Supervise accounting functions, including reconciliations and compliance
- Oversee accounts payable, payroll, and grant reporting
- Ensure timely, accurate monthly/annual closings, audits, and financial reports
- Drive process improvement and build out of the organization's financial policies and procedures
- Analyze and recommend cost-efficiency improvements
- Maintain tax compliance and ensure accurate financial documentation
- Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures
- Serve as a liaison for audits and advocate for a paperless environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience; 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Master's degree in Business/Accounting
- CPA license
- Experience with not-for-profit and government grants
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
