Controller - Constellation Search Group

Constellation Search Group is seeking a Controller for a full-time direct hire position.  The Controller is responsible for managing the Accounting Department, providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future. The Controller directs and manages company fiscal records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and current IT trends and regulations, respectively.
Responsibilities:

• Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, the consolidation of and distribution of internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets.
• Provides strategic financial leadership and support on the evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers, investments and/or other issues affecting the business.
• Recommends and leads new efforts to improve ROE/ROA performance.
• Works to optimize the handling of bank relationships and initiates needed strategies for improvement.
• Builds, develops and manages accounting team capable of carrying out needed initiatives.
• Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the accounting and information technology functions.
• Aligns financial policies and procedures with company objectives.
• Establishes financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements and to meet customer needs.
• Recommends and develops policies, procedures and systems, in conjunction with the various operating groups within the company to meet company objectives.
• Oversee the activities of the disbursement and accounts receivable departments.
• Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
• Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data and enhance the company's value.
• Assist the CFO on a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports, such as acquisition integrations and information technology enhancements.
• Oversee financial audits.

 
Position Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in progressing Accounting and Financial roles with 5+ years of managerial experience in an organization of at least 50 employees or 6+ years in a Big Four accounting firm or close equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
